Paula Petree is the author of several children’s picture books and is always
searching for interesting ideas for new stories. She attended University of
the Cumberlands in Williamsburg KY where she received her bachelor’s
degree in early childhood education. She went on to further her education
while teaching elementary school in a little town in Kentucky.
She always dreamed of writing children’s books, so when her two children
were grown and she was retired from teaching, she began her writing
career. In 2022 she was able to partner with Karen Trybone, a talented
illustrator and friend.
Karen Trybone is the illustrator of several children’s picture books and has
written and illustrated one book herself. She has also produced several
artistic projects for special events in East Tennessee, where she currently
lives. She attended Union University in Jackson, TN and graduated with a
bachelor’s degree in art and education. She went on to teach middle
school subjects including art.
Karen is a very talented artist who enjoys painting and drawing. When she
began working with author, Paula Petree, in 2022 – she discovered
technology that enhanced her drawings and made sharing them much
easier. When working on a children’s picture book, she now prefers to use
her tablet and a drawing app.
Karen’s pictures are vibrant and detailed so that readers are captivated and
drawn into the stories she illustrates.
